Tata Consultancy Services has bagged a 50 million AUD (Australian dollar) deal from AGL Energy to manage its technology infrastructure for five years. TCS, which writes software applications and manages back-office processes for clients such as GE, Nielsen and State Bank of India, has teamed up with BMC Software for the engagement. The latest win builds on its existing relationship with AGL. At present, over 650 TCS consultants are engaged on AGL assignments. Owen Coppage, Chief Information Officer and Group General Manager of Customer Operations at AGL, said: “TCS' focus on the relationship, rather than the contract, has resulted in higher levels of service each time we moved a new area to TCS. We expect the new deal to similarly enhance our experience, further strengthening our strategic relationship.
